Experienced marathon runner Khemjira Klongsanun was running the Chombueng marathon in western Thailand. Every little thing was going efficiently … until she reached 7 miles into the 26-mile marathon.
In the middle of the race, Khemjira noticed a little, shivering puppy just off the concrete. The other runners were trying to avoid the frightened Bangkaew, or Thai wolf pet dog.
However while the rest of the athletes overlooked the inadequate canine as well as kept on running, Khemjira realized she couldn’t simply leave him behind.
So, she gradually approached the puppy and also kneeled in front of him, bringing her run to a momentary halt. Since there were no houses or next-door neighbors nearby, it was clear to her the dog was either a lost roaming or abandoned pet. She recognized he would not survive the scorching climate on his own but she was still in the middle of the marathon for which she had actually been training.
In the supreme show of empathy, Khemjira picked up the pup and secured him from the sunlight with her towel. As opposed to quitting the race, she ran with the adorable canine underneath her arm for 19 even more miles!
Khemjira crossed the finish line while supporting the pup. She took him residence and attempted finding his proprietor, yet nobody stepped forward to declare him.
But the story doesn’t end there. Khemjira adopted the lucky young puppy and also named him Chombueng, after the race throughout which she saved his life. Incredible.
